What’s new for the 2008/2009 season at Big Sky Resort in Montana
The beautiful Big Sky Resort, situated in the vast mountains in Montana, is already working to put their winter event calendar together for the 2008 / 2009 skiing season. The proposed opening day for the Big Sky Resort’s winter season is November 27, though this tentative date may change based on weather, and when the best levels of snow and freshest powder are expected. Holders of Big Sky Cards will be able to take advantage of Big Sky’s Free Ski Week beginning on November 30 of 2008 and continuing on until December 06 of that year. Anyone who has a frequency Sky Card, a mid-week pass or a 15x pass is allowed to enjoy this free week of skiing and snowboarding.
Sometime between December 1 and the last day of the year, Big Sky ski vacations will be celebrating RUST, Rails under the Stars. Here local sliders and riders will compete in a completely unique Rail Jam under the lights in the Resort’s plaza. The night will be finished by an incredible party, complete with fireworks.
The Big Sky Resort Hotels will open their doors for the first time on December 11, 2008, gearing up for the remainder of the winter season. Though plenty of activities will be held between this date and the end of the season, the only planned, organized activities that are scheduled so far are:
- Sno-Bar on January 17 of 2009
- Return of the Sno-Bar on January 24
- Dummy Jump on February 07.
- Free Ski from April 06 to April 12.
- Closing of the Season on April 12, 2009.

All of the staff at the resorts are very friendly and helpful, and you will find that the resorts have everything that you could need or want. The resorts are made so that you will find a trail that you can go down, no matter what your skiing level is, and if you have never skied, you can take lessons. So no matter where you are in terms of skiing and snowboarding, you will have a great time in Montana.
